Lana Rhoades entered the adult industry as an actress in April 2016 and took the industry by storm. With her enticing blue eyes, innocent smile, and the looks of the hottest cheerleader in school it is no surprise that Lana quickly built a legion of fans and was the newest adult movie star in 2016 to be nominated for an AVN Award for the best new starlet.
Lana said she was born to be a porn star and she has had an interest in being an adult actress for as long as she can remember. She certainly sounds like she is in heaven doing her dream job. When asked what her favorite part of being an actress in the adult industry was, Lana’s reply was a jubilant, “I love everything. I love making the movies, I love the people, I have a great team supporting me at this point in my career. I love the fans who I call friends that I have made.” She does, however, express regret in the lack of coffee on adult movie sets showing not every dream job is 100 percent perfect.
Lana’s first adult movie was Mike Adriano’s Slut Auditions released through John Stagliano’s powerhouse distribution company Evil Angel. In her second year in the adult movie industry, Lana has managed to be cast in roughly 60 to 70 movies already with no end in sight.
When asked which of her movies was her favorite, Lana’s response was, “The ones I have coming up! I’m going to be shooting some major stuff this year. I have big plans for future projects. I want to shock my fans.”
This can only mean the best is still yet to come which is a daunting task for Lana considering her current filmography of work in the adult movie industry.
Greg Lansky cast Lana for a showcase for his website Tushy. Released under the name Lana, the showcase tells the story of Lana – appropriately played by Lana Rhoades – a law student who is struggling with debt and her social life while getting her degree. Her roommate Kate introduces Lana to the life of being a high-class escort to solve her issues. A lifestyle that Lana adapts to very well. Lana gave Lana Rhoades a chance to not just show off her sexual prowess but also her acting ability and quickly became a best-seller.
Flash: What was your reaction when Greg Lansky, the director of Lana, asked you to be in a showcase for Tushy?
Lana Rhoades: Well I had three directors including Greg offering to do my first anal showcase. I am happy I chose to work with Tushy, it was a great experience and the showcase ended up being a best-seller. I’m very proud of that.
Flash: When it comes to acting in an adult movie, do you prefer a plotted movie like Lana or do you prefer to be in an all sex movie and why?
Lana: I like both. I think you are a great performer when you can act, do erotica, and be a dirty gonzo star. A truly good performer can do it all. I strive every day to better myself and push myself harder. I love my job so much.
Flash: Do you find that you approach how you handle your character in a plotted movie such as Lana different than you do in an all sex movie?
Lana: Yes, in a plotted movie I have to be the character. In an all sex movie I can perform as myself but within the context of the genre.
Flash: It is my understanding that Lana was shot over a significant period of time which required multiple shooting sessions apart from each other.
Lana: Correct. We filmed over a few months because I was still living in Chicago and going to school at the time – kind of like my character.
Flash: Did you find that you had trouble getting into character with the gap in between shootings or was it easy for you?
Lana: It’s very natural for me. I don’t over think the acting, I just let it come out.
Flash: You really brought the character of Lana in the movie to life in the non-sexual scenes. Do you have plans to try and get into any of the bigger plotted movies that are made in the adult movie industry?
Lana: Sure, the first porno I ever bought was Pirates with Jesse Jane; I would love to do something like that.
Flash: Which one of the sex scenes in Lana was your favorite to shoot and why?
Lana: The DP. It felt like real sex.
Flash: It is my understanding that Lana featured your first anal, your first DP, and your first interracial scenes.
Lana: Correct.
Flash: Do you bring anything extra to these sex scenes because you know your fans are eagerly awaiting them or do you treat them as a normal scene?
Lana: I give my 100 percent in all of my scenes.
Flash: Reflecting back on making Lana, what was your favorite aspect of making the movie and why?
Lana: Again, I would have to say the DP. It was such a great experience, I can’t wait to do more! I’m saving it exclusively for my next showcase though.
Flash: And what was your least favorite and why?
Lana: I can’t pinpoint anything I didn’t like.
Flash: Do you have any upcoming projects or movies that you would like your fans to know about?
Lana: Huge things are coming but they are not ready to be revealed.
