Diamond Foxxx Talks with Captain Jack
Diamond is a legendary performer who has been around for 15 years! She is a great performer and has been in many iconic scenes. I recently had a chance to Diamond and we talked about about her start in porn, some of her most memorable scenes and what would she be doing if she wasn’t in the industry!
Captain Jack: Tell me about Diamond Foxxx.
Diamond Foxxx: I grew up in a military family. My mom was a marine and my dad was in the navy. We traveled all over the country, going to school on different bases. North, south, east, west…we were everywhere! We settled in Virginia, in Norfolk. I stayed in Virginia until I was about 25 where I met my husband and took off to Florida about a month after we got married. I grew up with a very strict background, my mother was very, very strict. I was a straight A student, always a good kid, never got into any trouble. I had two kids pretty early in life from my first marriage. I met my now husband when I was about 24, got married at 25. We moved to Florida and I was about 31 when I entered porn. We got into the business because I needed money to invest in real estate. The real estate market was booming. I needing about $8,000 to put down on a house and it might as well have been $8 million because I didn’t have it. I didn’t even have $800; I had nothing. I went out to LA to shoot porn for a couple of weeks. I figured I could make the money I needed for my real estate and call it a day. I was out there for two weeks and shot and when I came back to West Palm Beach, Florida, where we were living at the time, a guy at the airport, fresh off the plane, said, ‘I just watched your very first Naughty America My First Sex Teacher Video! I just saw it right before I came to the airport!’ I said, ‘Oh my God!’ I didn’t know what to think or what to do or anything. It was unreal. Except then I thought that people already saw it so I may as well go for it! (laughs) Needless to say, I made my $8,000 and bought my first house. I was already in it so I may as well keep going. There’s no turning back now because everybody has seen everything. The rest is history. Now, it’s 15 years later and here we are.
CJ: What’s impressive is that in 15 years, you haven’t really taken a break. You have a pretty steady output of scenes.
Diamond: Yes, I’ve been pretty solid. I took a 1-year break back when my mom died in December of 2010. I helped my dad so I took a year off. Brazzers called and said, ‘Hey, the business misses you! What do we have to do to get you back?’ So we talked and I shot a gangbang video. It was a huge hit and I never looked back.
CJ: Getting into porn is a huge step. Were you a very sexual woman back in your younger years? Did you have an open marriage?
Diamond: No, I didn’t sleep around, not when I was married. After I had my 2 children from my first marriage, I joined the navy and then I did some running around. I didn’t have any time in high school to do anything so I was kind of stuck with my boyfriend. When I was in the navy, there was no holds barred for that kind of stuff. I actually got kicked out of the navy for sexual misconduct. Little did I know, if you’re single, you can not have sex. It’s in the department of justice’s handbook. I would say that porn definitely saved our marriage because I was not a very sexual person. I was very shy and reserved and very conservative and now I’m very open and forward.
CJ: Was there any nervousness when you started filming? I mean all these people are there watching you fuck. What was your first scene like?
Diamond: I was a nervous wreck. I got into LA and they put me on a train to San Diego, for Naughty America. I remember they told me they wanted natural colored fingernails. I had always painted my nails red forever and, if you see the video, I didn’t have any polish on my fingernails because I didn’t know what they meant by natural. They told me to do my own hair and makeup and I looked like a complete clown. I had never done my makeup before and didn’t really know what I was doing. I remember coming off the train in San Diego and just being mortified. I had no idea what I was getting myself into. I didn’t know what to expect, I was just a nervous wreck. I was all by myself. They told me to bring teacher clothes…I don’t know, that a nun would wear. They said, ‘No! That’s not what we meant!’ We all laughed about it and it made for a great scene. It’s one of my fans’ favorite scenes ever, as much as it mortifies me. (laughs) We started the scene and they told me to get on top of the desk and fuck him. I was like, ‘OK, let’s see if I can do this!’ I managed to make it through the scene and forever, until the day I go to my grave, Brett Brando will be my favorite director. He was so cool and calm and took the time with me and had a lot of patience.
CJ: What’s your favorite position?
Diamond: My favorite position is missionary. I don’t get to do that a lot on film.
CJ: What do you like sexually? What gets Diamond wet?
Diamond: A slow hand. I like someone that takes their time and doesn’t dive right in. I get turned on by good hygiene and a good smile. I’m kind of a bland person. (laughs)
CJ: Do you prefer working with younger guys or men your own age.
Diamond: I like working with people my own age but the way the industry is, I end up working a lot with the younger people, which is fine. They have a lot of stamina and it keeps me happy. But people my age, I love dearly. Manuel and other people that have been around a while, I like a lot.
CJ: Are you submissive or dominant?
Diamond: I am definitely dominant.
CJ: Do you watch porn before you got into the industry?
Diamond: Never. I think when I came to the conclusion that I would do porn, my husband had a video of Jenna Jameson, she was dancing in a strip club. He put this in and said that this is what basically happens in porn. He put the video on and I didn’t even think I could watch the whole thing. I didn’t really know what was going on! I was so naïve! (laughs)
CJ: Who are some of your favorite performers or directors you’ve worked with?
Diamond: Like I said, I like Brett Brando. I like Mike Quasar a lot, I think he has a great personality. Greg Lansky, I shot with him a while back. It was a laundromat scene, which was a very good scene. One of the pictures that surfaces on the internet quite a bit is me reaching in a big dryer with my butt sticking out. I call it an iconic picture because it’s everywhere I look.
CJ: Who are some performers or directors you would love to work with that you haven’t yet?
Diamond: Riley Steele, I would love to work with. I know she just came back. She was on contract with Digital Playground and I never got a chance to work with her. She has such a bubbly, sparkly personality. I think we would go well together.
CJ: What scene or scenes would you like your fans to check out to watch you at your best?
Diamond: I would say a big fan favorite is Chow Dong. It was made about 10 years ago for Bang Brothers with Seth Gamble. It was his first scene and I really thought the scene was going to bust. He was new and wasn’t used to the porn positions, like I was used to, but it turned out to be a humongous favorite of all the fans. I get emails about it constantly. That one for sure. And I would say a Birthday Gangbang for Brazzers. And Fly Girls which was a Digital Playground video.
CJ: What would you be doing if you weren’t in the adult industry?
Diamond: I’d probably be doing real estate but I don’t know. That’s a good question. When I’m not working, I stay home and take care of the family and that’s probably what I would prefer to be doing if I weren’t shooting porn.
CJ: If you could magically go back and talk to Diamond before her first scene, what would you tell her?
Diamond: I would tell her to relax and go have fun. I would have probably told her to go and watch more porn before she did videos herself. (laughs) Do some homework first. When I find out who I’m working with, I don’t like to look them up on the internet, I just like to be surprised and have a nice time with the person.
CJ: What are you like off-camera? What do you do for fun?
Diamond: I do roller derby. And this past weekend, I went on my first skydiving adventure and I think I want to do more of that.
CJ: What kind of music do you like?
Diamond: I like country.
CJ: What’s your favorite TV shows?
Diamond: I like watching all the cop shows.
CJ: What’s your favorite food?
Diamond: Good, All-American Steak.
CJ: What’s your favorite thing about porn?
Diamond: I think that I can be free and do what I want to do. I feel this freedom doing porn that I can be free to do what I want to do and experiment. If I do something that I like, like a new position or something, I can try it at home and I enjoy that.
