Mackenzie Moss Talks with Captain Jack
MacKenzie started her porn career in 2019 and I was lucky enough to have met her before she shot her first scene. We talked briefly at AVN and I knew that I was going to interview this beauty at some point. That some point has arrived and she is just as open as she is sexual on-camera! We had a nice conversation and MacKenzie is very intelligent and well spoken.
Captain Jack: Tell me about Mackenzie Moss.
Mackenzie Moss: I grew up in a suburb in upstate New York. In high school, I was definitely more of a nerdy girl. I was in honors classes and stuff. I had my own friend group, just a few close friends that I talked to. I wasn’t very promiscuous in high school; I feel like once I went to college, that’s when I really started coming into my own. I moved to Boston for college and in my last two years of college, that’s when I was more exploratory and signed up for Tinder. I was hooking up with more guys and whatnot. I didn’t lose my virginity until I was 19 in my freshman year of college. After that point is when I really opened up and blossomed. I was a bit of a late bloomer you could say. I was very concentrated on my studies. I don’t tell many people about my sexual exploits in college. I feel like I’ve always been an innocent girl on the outside but dirty on the inside. I was studying biology in college and I finished that. I have a degree, which is cool.
The debt load is what steered me away. I was thinking about going to veterinary school but it was going to be a lot of money on top of the debt that I already had from undergrad. Pretty much right after I graduated, I started sex work. I did some stripping stuff but didn’t find very many people in Boston that I connected with. I made some connections in New York and moved down there last June and started stripping there. It wasn’t that long ago but from the time I was in New York, I grew so much as a person but also as a asexual being. I would have probably done it eventually but I probably wouldn’t have made the decision as with as much confidence and as quickly if I didn’t have my support system. For that, I’m super grateful for. I was also super lucky. My parents didn’t really know I was doing sex work after I graduated but I emailed them before I moved out to LA and laid it all out, telling them I was going to do adult films. They were extremely supportive and just want me to be happy. I thought, ‘Wow’, that’s not the reaction I thought.
CJ: How old are you?
Mackenzie: 24
CJ: You lost your virginity your freshman year in college. Was it tough to get through high school with all those hormones flowing through you?
Mackenzie: (laughs) I masturbated a lot. I feel like I just was afraid of guys when I was in high school. I was a naturally super confident person, I guess. But I feel like through the experiences in my life, I’ve become more confident in myself. Masturbating was key in high school.

CJ: You did some research and talked to Spiegler, your first scene was shot right after AVN, right?
Mackenzie: Yes it was. With Net Video Girls, actually.
CJ: How’d that first scene go? Were you nervous? Turned on?
MacKenzie: I was definitely a little nervous. I think it was mostly the night before; afraid I was going to be late or mess something up in that sense. But I feel once I got into the makeup chair and was talking to someone else, my anxiety kind of dissolved. I also just reminded myself that I can trust myself and I made the decision to get into this industry for a reason. I just really put my trust in myself.
CJ: How did you come up with your stage name?
Mackenzie: The last name came first. It’s after Kate Moss. I was going through some supermodel last names with something I liked and Spiegler also liked. MacKenzie came up and I thought it was very fitting because that was who I had my very first gay experience with in elementary school. I was over at her house, she was the popular girl and she convinced me to “practice kissing” for the guy. I feel like I’ve really grown into my bisexuality and girls are very important to me.
CJ: You kissed in elementary school, you lost your virginity at 19, when was the first time you had full-on sex with a girl?
Mackenzie: Probably around 2 years ago now. A little bit after I graduated college.
CJ: What’s your favorite position?

Mackenzie: Yes I do with a couple of my boyfriends from the past. I was introduced to it my junior year of college, probably about four years ago now. So, yes, I have experience with it. But I haven’t done it super recently.

CJ: What kind of music do you like?
Mackenzie: I’m really into more alternative music and psychedelic rock or pop like Radiohead…but I’ve also gotten into more R&B and hip hop stuff more recently too. I’m kind of all over the map.
CJ: Do you have any favorite movies?
Mackenzie: Have you ever heard of Studio Ghibli? I really love the movie Spirted Away, it’s probably one of my top movies. I also really like the movie The Hand Maiden which is a South Korean erotic thriller. It’s a lesbian movie which I feel is very underrepresented in the arts. It’s an amazing movie but it’s also cool to see that representation as well.
CJ: What’s your favorite TV shows?
Mackenzie: I like Twin Peaks, I watched all of it in the span of a few days because I was so into it. I thought it was really well done and interesting. And then I like funnyy stuff like The Office or Arrested Development. I really don’t watch too much TV currently. I think I’m more of an internet person than a watching TV person.
CJ: What’s the kinkiest thing you’ve ever done?
Mackenzie: (laughs) Great question. Probably when I was involved with some friends that would have sex parties when I lived in New York City.
