Captain Jack: Tell me about Alexa Chains.

Alexa Chains: I grew up very, very boring. I think it fuels my desire. Porn is such a huge part of people’s lives, even moreso than they would like to admit. I’ve had a pretty eccentric life outside of porn, privately, I guess free. (laughs) This has definitely given me a greater appreciation for all the porn that I’ve watched.

CJ: What do you mean an eccentric kind of life

Alexa: I was working as a dental assistant. I was married, I had a very tame life. I was living in Palm Springs, working 9-5 and then in my off time, I was a terrible wife in terms of I cheated a lot but then I tried to open things up. I wanted to have an open relationship and I’ve always loved women and loved sex.

CJ: And your husband wanted to stay monogamous?

Alexa: Yeah, I think he was lying. I think he was scared. (laughs)

CJ: You were a dental assistant, did you just wake up one day and think that you needed a change in your life?

Alexa: I like to say that I took a huge detour. I had no direction when I met my husband. I was 18 and I had no idea what I wanted to do. He actually recommended being a dental assistant to me because I had a lot of habits where I was very cleaning, I guess. He said I would be amazing at that because I loved my teeth and flossed so much. I did and for a while, I was pursuing dental hygiene in continuing education. But it was so boring and I was so unfulfilled!

CJ: How long did you do that for?

Alexa: For about a year and then I tried bartending, I worked as a bottle girl, different stuff, just aimless. Up until now, I was working in food service; bartending, serving. Especially after my divorce, I didn’t want to go back to an office. It was a nice way to earn money without starting a career.

CJ: How old are you?

Alexa: I’m 28.
