Jessica entered the industry 10 years ago (with a little hiatus included). And, like most people, she has grown and developed as a person over the years. This is the third time we’ve chatted. The first was back in 2015 and the second was after her hiatus last year. One of the great things about being in my position is that the more you talk to people, the more you become friends with them. I love talking to Jessica. Captain Jack: You made your return to porn a little over a year ago. How is your return going?

Jessica Ryan: It’s been such an interesting journey. Super cool but super challenging. The industry is really focused on all of the new meat. I can appreciate it because now that porn is more “accepted” than before, they’re always trying to sample new things. The MILF thing was kind of a thing when I started. I remember I had a couple movies where I was shooting with another girl but, now, I’m feeling like the industry is MILF was synonymous with incest. I love kink and I love catering to fetishes but to have something just because you are in a particular age range, it’s a strange dynamic. It seems to be potentially dying down which I would love. Also, because there are so many performers now, they feel like they have to categorize them. Vicky Vette got in at 36 and they can still be highlighted but now, once you get to a particular age, you’re a MILF and you’re put on the side. However, there is a Female Performer category which, in generally, they’re all female performers. I’m not particularly fond of the classification. Electra Rayne Talks with Captain Jack

Electra is a very fun person to talk to. She has a sexual energy about her but is down-to-earth and great to pick her brain. She’s also very kinky which is always a plus! This beauty is back after her first interview and we never run out of things to talk about! Enjoy!

Captain Jack: You wanted to get into porn since you were 11. How is your dream job going?

Electra: Amazingly well! I think we talked last time about how Kink.com inspired me. I like participating in many, many, many different types of porn but Kink.com is my inspiration. I’ve now done 2 scenes for them with their directors and an additional 3 scenes that will be released through them. That is really incredible; the dream of a lifetime come true! If you follow me on social media, you probably know my horse is sick right now. He’s stable but has ongoing issues. And the day I took him up to UC Davis, he was in patient hospitalized for a week. And that’s pretty far from Vegas, it’s about 9 to 9 ½ hours but with a horse trailer, it’s even longer. Plus, we had bad winds when we left and were going against 40 mph winds. But I shot a scene for Severe Sex Films that is going to be released for Kink.com. And I left immediately to start the journey to the hospital. I was really stressed and upset about my horse but I had to take a minute. If you told me as a kid, that I would shoot a scene for kink.com and then pick up my horsey and go on a journey across the state of California to get medical care for the horse, that little kid would have said, ‘Oh my God, I hope the horsey is ok but I have a really cool adult life!’ It was just this moment of perspective for me.

CJ: You mentioned last time that you’re a top, not a dom, a top. What’s the difference between the two?

Electra: That is a really great question! I’m glad you asked that. This is something that people get confused a lot! So, a dom and sub are specifically kink dynamic terms or BDSM terms and they have to do with the power dynamic but not physical actions. Where topping and bottoming have to do with physical actions. So, you could imagine a scenario where a guy who has a penis is tied up and totally helpless and there’s a Femdom and she’s like, ‘You’re powerless to control yourself! I’m in control of you!’ etc. And maybe she controls you and whatever happens to you is her choice. But within that situation, she’s domming him but he’s the one who’s actually topping because even though he’s not in control of what’s happening, the actual physical action, he is the penetrator and not the penetratee. Top and bottom are queer culture terms, not that only queers can use them. In a straight relationship when you have two cis gender heterosecual people, You can say the guy is topping and the woman is bottoming, it comes from queer culture where there’s not an obvious dichotomy.

CJ: You have always been in the kink society in your personal life. What is the wildest thing you’ve ever done?

Electra: That’s tough to answer because people’s ideas of wild vary widely. A lot of my most extreme scenarios have come through work. If you go and look at my first three scenes from 2015 and 2016, that’s the most extreme BDSM that I have ever participated in. It’s pretty much torture porn. There’s a lot more violence than there are sex acts. It’s a lot more extreme than what I am personally interested in. That being said, everyone on set was really great, I completely consented to everything and there were no issues. When I was younger, I was a lot more into degradation and humiliation. That’s still fun once in a while. What excites me more as an adult are things like group sex and public sex. I don’t know if this is wild or not but one of my favorite stories is my girlfriend and I in 2018, we went to New Orleans on New Year’s Eve. We have a tradition of spending New Year’s in a different city every year. Electra: It’s super different. Layna: I am 27.

CJ: How long have you been in the industry?

Layna: It’s been 8 years now.

CJ: When did you lose your virginity?

Layna: I actually lost my virginity quite young. I was 13, it was a good friend of mine.

CJ: Once that happened, did you start exploring your sexuality?

Layna: I’ve always been connected to sexual energy and my sexuality. I was always curious about it from a really young age, younger than most people are comfortable in hearing about. Layna: I actually started in the industry as a stripper. I worked my way up from there. I was working at a club, I had just dropped out of college, super stereotypical. Layna: That’s not entirely accurate. I guess the first one in 2016 was accurate in terms of shooting mainstream porn specifically. I have been mostly producing my own content since then. I shot for about a year and a half-2 years. I had a whirlwind of crazy experiences and I needed to take a break and a breather and do my own thing. So, I decided to take a step back, try to make my own content, and, over the last couple of years, there have been so many bills passed and regulations passed like the banking regulations, SOSTA/FESTA, all of that. It makes it really difficult to shoot your own content, it makes it hard to be seen, it makes it hard to get noticed so I decided to get back into mainstream porn. Partially because I miss it. I miss the environment of being on set and the energy of being on set with a team of people collaborating. And also because it’s really good exposure.

CJ: When you were out of it, especially the most recent one, did you have any regular jobs?

Layna: I’ve been off-and-on with some part-time jobs. My other trade before I got into adult was actually theatre and specifically in production. My part-time job was at a lighting designer and an electrician at a local theatre.

CJ: How did you come up with your stage name?

Layna: This is another one of those grey-area stories. When I was younger and exploring things and just following those urges, I had a fake MySpace page where I was pretending to be a 21-year-old girl living in LA. I was using my own pictures because, when I was younger, I looked older than I was. I just matured really early. So, it was my photos but I was posing as someone older and just messaging with other people. The name ‘Layna’ is actually derived a longer name that this MySpace page was under. If anyone tries to find it, good luck, because I don’t think the account even exists anymore. ‘Landry’ came about because I like alliteration, I was looking for a last name and it just rolled off the tongue so I went with it.

CJ: So what was your first scene like? You were sexually experienced but it’s different with all these people around. Were you intimidated? Nervous? Turned on?

Layna: My first scene was amazing! I had just flown in to Florida and 2 days later I was shooting for Reality Kings. I think the male talent was also somewhat new, I think he was in the industry for a couple of months at that time. He was super sweet, really nice. Everyone on set was amazing and made me feel like a Princess. I was super excited to be there. I thought I would be nervous but once the cameras started rolling, I was just ‘on’ and I loved every second of it. By the end of it, I could barely speak. CJ: What’s your favorite position?
