Captain Jack Interviews Kimber Woods

I’ve seen Kimber in a few scenes and I was very impressed with her performances. I immediately sent her a Tweet and we finally got together for an interview. CJ: I also heard you were in martial arts?

Kimber: I was in Sansei Go-Ryu, which is a traditional Japanese style marital art. I’m one of the only females that does it. I got special permission to test at 15 years old for a black belt and I was one of the first females to get a black belt. I’m a third degree black belt now. I’ve been doing it for 13 years. I was in MMA for 6 years. And I have 7 world championships. I was a competitive martial artist.

CJ: Wow, I’ll never mess with you!

Kimber: (laughs) I’m super non-violent though. I only get violent when I have to!

CJ: How old are you? You look like you’re 19!

Kimber: I am actually 23.

CJ: How long have you been in the industry?

Kimber: About a year, I’m still pretty new.

CJ: When did you lose your virginity?

Kimber: I lost my virginity at 17. I was a really, really good girl, I was a fucking prude. I wouldn’t let anybody touch me and I was a goody goody. I lost my virginity in my room, on my bed to my first boyfriend. It was all the typical way of losing your virginity except his dick was not small, it was so painful! (laughs)

Kimber: Before he took the name T Stone, his stage name was Tarzan but for obvious reasons, he had to change it when he came out to California.

CJ: How did you come up with your stage name?

Kimber: My original stage name was Lexi Vexxx. It was like this little name I came up with when I was a kid. It was fucking stupid, obviously. I hated it. (laughs) I got with this agent and we were thinking of a name. He came up with Kimber and I liked that. We thought about Kimber Rose but everyone is a Rose. My boyfriend actually looked at me and said ‘Kimber Woods!’ I said, ‘Oh shit!’

CJ: So what was your first scene like? You said it was great. But it’s different with all these people around. Were you intimidated? Nervous? Turned on?

Kimber: I was fucking terrified. I was so nervous. I had just lost about 15 pounds but was still a little chubby. I was really, really nervous that my body wasn’t up to par and that they weren’t going to like me. Or what if I queefed or something! (laughs) I was fucking terrified. Kimber: Game of Thrones. And we actually just watched this show called Stranger Things on Netflix. We binge watched the whole season in one day. And I love cartoons. Cartoons are my favorite things in the whole world?

Do you have any advice for other people when it comes to picking someone up or dating/relationships?

I’m not one to ask advice about that it seems to me that the few men still in my heart I met randomly like at a friend’s house or the one that I was with for 5 years I met at a bar then I asked him to go to San Diego with me the next day. I’m kind of bold. If I have feelings for you I go for it. I usually get what I want when it comes to that. I think the number one thing that I can say is to follow your gut not your heart when it comes to those affairs. Captain Jack Interviews Maya Divine

Maya was in the industry for a long while before taking a hiatus to go back to school. The MILF is coming back to porn and she has a lot more to offer! She’s overcome a lot in her life but the main thing to remember is that she’s given us a lot of scenes to enjoy and plans to give us a lot more!

Captain Jack: Tell me about Maya Divine. Where did you grow up?

Maya Divine: Oh my God! You want me to go in the wayback machine? I was an outcast, people did not like me. I was bullied as a child. I did not have a very good school experience at all. I had a very traumatic childhood and when I say traumatic, I’m not saying that lightly. I had 3 murders and one suicide between the ages of 15 and 17 including my best friend, my mother and my grandmother. My grandmother is the one who killed herself. So my childhood was not fun! By the time I was 16, I was on my own. My stepfather is the one who killed my mother. That’s behind me. You live, you grow, you move one. Other than that, I wasn’t a bad kid. Supposedly, I was called a wild child but I didn’t do that much! I got decent grades in school, I always have. When I took this time off, I graduated with honors and I’m nearly done with a Master’s Degree. All in all, I was a pretty decent kid but I didn’t have much of a childhood to speak of!

CJ: What subject are you taking for your Master’s?

Maya: Meta Physics. It sounds like a big term but it has to do with everything having to do with spirituality. You can say religion but that’s such a limited term.

CJ: Why did you originally join the porn industry?

Maya: It was in the 90s, about 1998. I think stripping is a gateway into all things adult. I started stripping when I was 18. By the time I was 19, I already had somebody in the club that hooked me up and sent me out to LA to do magazines. I was in magazines all over the place; Penthouse, Hustler, High Society, Gallery, Mayfair….That happened for a couple of years and then that slowed down. Feature dancing was very big where I lived in Florida. I was thinking of doing that but I was still so shy and insecure. It took me a while to get into feature dancing because my credits were old by that time. I still pulled it off but then the laws changed and everything got shut down. Because I had done Hustler, they put me on some Hustler Trading Cards. I went to conventions to sign the cards. It was pretty cool. The guys that hooked me up introduced me to a couple people who knew people and they got me to the AVN Convention. So I went out to Vegas with the thought to make more income and to create some interest in the feature dancing. Once there, I met Paul Thomas and Michael Raven and everybody. I had been in an HBO documentary, the very first one, Naked State. Paul had seen it and totally wanted to shoot me. And Michael said he would take me back to LA immediately. So I shot a couple movies for him and my husband came out to meet me. It was a rough patch in our relationship because we were trying to figure things out. We had to work that out for a bit and then a couple of years later, once things settled down, we started working with other people. That’s how it all took off and that’s how I ended up in the industry. Things were so different back then. They didn’t allow guys in so easily. That’s why I had to work with him for as long as I did. It was rough getting started for a little bit. I was offered a contract from Vivid but because I was trying to work on my marriage and figure things out and I didn’t exactly understand the scope of things, I passed it up. I would love to be able to do more now but this is the reality. So now I’m trying to get back in after all this time off and see where it takes me.

CJ: Is your husband still in it?

Maya: Yes, it’s Eric Masterson. We just celebrated 18 years of marriage and 20 years together.

CJ: How long were you in it before your retirement?

Maya: About 13 ½ years.

CJ: Why did you retire?

Maya: Once you’ve been in it that long, things start to slow down. I had done some make-up artist work. There was no work as a performer for me. I had been in it so long, it just wasn’t happening. MILF’s were in it but it wasn’t like it is now. It wasn’t prominent. My brain started saying, ‘Hey, I would like some attention too, can we go back to school and act like we actually have a brain.’ I realize that I had to give myself the attention and affection, to show myself the love, that you can’t get in this type of industry. I needed to go back to school and show myself that I had much more to offer myself. A lot of people don’t realize, we torture ourselves so much in life and we beat ourselves all the time, I got tired of feeling that way.  I wanted to go back to school and show myself I could do it and show that I had it in me.

CJ: Why did you decide to come back?

Maya: Oh goodness. After getting all the way through school, I went through a phase that I had to figure out what I wanted to do. I’m at the age and now is the time where if I’m going to make the most of it, this is the time I’m going to get back into the industry where I still look pretty decent. I can make the most of this MILF thing that is a big thing in porn now. I want to take advantage of that. I realized that since I wasn’t working and I had trouble deciding what to do for work, porn was an option. I had to comeback at least once. (laughs)

CJ: You mentioned how the industry is so different now. What do you notice as the biggest changes now from when you first got into it.

Maya: How easy it is for some people to get into this industry, guys especially. Back in the day, girls had to tell producers they would only work with this guy in order for him to get a foot in the door. That’s one of the major differences. There are so many younger girls now. Back in the day, there weren’t so many 18-year olds in the industry. Porn has reached the stage where, as soon as someone reaches 18, ‘I’m going into porn!’ I don’t know what happened or what TV show got out there to make it so glamorous. Of course, we don’t have film anymore. The internet has certainly changed things. You don’t have to be in porn, but you can make a million dollars as a housewife with 10 kids while masturbating on camera as long as the kids don’t come in the room. It’s amazing to look up these websites. There are a billion girls out there, 18 on up, out and about. It’s amazing, everybody out there is making a dollar on the internet. Piracy is rampant, but it’s taken quite a bit out of the industry. It’s helped the industry too but it’s really taken away from it as well. Don’t get me wrong, I’m sure as hell going to get my money too! (laughs) They have all these apps nowadays too. Social media has drastically changed porn. It’s major, it has to be a part of it if you want to make a name. When I started, we had none of this!

CJ: What’s your favorite position?

Maya: I like missionary only because I like to look into the person’s eyes. That and because of the way I’m built. I honestly think that my cervix, or whatever the hell that shit is, is tilted a certain way.

CJ: Do you have any favorite scenes?

CJ: What are you like off-camera? What are your hobbies and interests?

Maya: Oh, now I can be boring. (laughs) As of right now, my husband and myself, we’re both busy but we like to spend time with each other when we get the chance. Whether trying to sit down and watch a movie or going out to eat somewhere or whether we want to fuck. (laughs) When he’s not around, I’m a big gamer. I love to play World of Warcraft. Since the new expansion pack that has come out that launched, there were many events that happened throughout the game. If you purchased the pre-package, you get to do all these events up until the day it launches. Let’s put it this way, if you’ve been playing WOW up until this point, you can have a character up to level 100. When you buy the expansion pack, now your character can go up to 110. Before the expansion pack, I had two level 100 characters. This is how geeky I am. I have been playing so heavily, I now have 6 level 100 characters. I’m a geeky person who loves to play World of Warcraft. I love to read. My husband loves to play DND. For all those geeky people out there, I am your girl. I am the one!

CJ: What kind of music do you like?

Maya: Most of the contemporary stuff right now, I am not liking it. But I like old rock. When I say old rock, I don’t mean the 90s, I mean the 70s. (laughs) I also like listening to hair bands and I’m a huge fan of club music.

CJ: What’s your favorite movie?

Maya: I’m a huge fan of anything Marvel. I just watched Angry Birds last night, it was cute. I really enjoyed the whole story of Lord of the Rings because I like those epic stories. Stuff like that.

CJ: What’s your favorite TV shows?

Maya: My biggest favorite all-time TV show is Major Crimes.

CJ: What’s your favorite food?

Maya: Pizza!

Captain Jack Interviews Kendra Sunderland

I first interviewed Kendra just over a year ago when she gained notoriety for masturbating on cam at a University library. At the time, she insisted she would never do porn. Flash forward one year and times have changed! Kendra just filmed her first porn scene and it should prove to be a winner. Will she be a one-hit wonder? Read on to find out!

Captain Jack: When we first talked, I asked you if you’d ever do a porn scene and you said, “Not unless we were camming together.” What changed?

Kendra Sunderland: When I said that, I really meant it and really didn’t think I would. Just being in the industry more and seeing the backside of it, I met somebody and we’ve been together for a long time. It was a turn-on for us; talking about getting into the industry and he turned it into a fantasy of mine and I decided that I wanted to try it at least once in my life, like a bucketlist type thing. When I got an offer from Greg Lansky, I thought ‘I can not turn this down! I will never get an offer this big in my life ever again!’ so we decided to take it.

CJ: How was your first boy/girl with Mick Blue?

Kendra: It was really great! I was really nervous at first, which is natural, but he helped me a lot. He gave me advice and Greg’s entire team made me feel super comfortable so I had a really good experience.

CJ: How was being on a camera different than your home life?

Kendra: It’s chopped up more. We don’t just go in to having sex. It’s not chronological. We take pictures first, then take pictures of when we’re about to have sex, then start having sex and stop and take pictures. There’s a lot of stopping and going; it’s not like at home where you just do it and it’s intimate.

CJ: Did you find it hard to open up, arch, etc?

Kendra: At the time, not really, but later that night, my body was so sore! The next day, my back was sore. My legs were hurting from all the different positions, I was so incredibly sore! It’s a lot more work than people think!

CJ: Is this going to be your only scene?

Kendra: I get asked that a lot and I haven’t answered anybody. All I say is that if it wasn’t going to be and I was going to do more, I wouldn’t be allowed to announce it until they came out. (laughs) I’m not saying no, I’m not saying yes.

CJ: Hypothetically then, if you were going to stay in the industry, do you think you might do anal in the future?

Kendra: (laughs) I don’t know what to say because a year ago, I didn’t even know that I’d do this scene. I’m not really into anal. It’s just overwhelming and I get an uncomfortable feeling but, who knows? I’m only 21, when I get older, I might be into it and like it. I wouldn’t want to do it all the time, however, I don’t want to get blown out.

CJ: You mentioned your boyfriend, is he in the industry?

Kendra: No, he definitely would like to be! There’s a possibility of projects with the two of us in the future. (laughs)

CJ: You said last year that you had a couple of lesbian experiences in your personal life, what about a girl/girl scene?

Kendra: I’m open to girl/girl scenes, for sure.

CJ: Last interview, you said you hadn’t been laid in a while. How often do you have sex now?

Kendra: (laughs) It depends. I feel like some days, we can’t stop touching each other and there are other days where we’re just tired. We’re really adventurous, we have a really open relationship. We’re exploring that right now. Lately, we’ve been having a lot of fun with other people and ourselves and with the scene. I’m definitely getting laid more than when I was single, that’s for sure!

CJ: Are you classified as a swinger?

Kendra: We haven’t done anything with other couples yet but I’ve really into girls lately so we’ve been bringing girls in.

CJ: Do you still do a lot of camming?

Kendra: Yes. It’s been hard with traveling and everything. I really try to. I’ve been doing charity shows where I cammed 12 hours one day and 12 hours the next to raise money for different causes. Kendra: (laughs) I could but I obviously have to eat at some point. I’ll make food or play games. Sometimes we’ll just there and talk.

Kendra. Yes. (laughs)

CJ: You had a full sized doll of yourself come out. How did that go?

Kendra: Yes, I think it’s really cool walking into an adult shop and seeing myself. I didn’t really think about how it would turn out. My boyfriend had a lot of fun with the blowup doll. CJ: How was it getting form fitted?

Kendra: I would lay on a table. It’s pretty scientific. The guys were wearing lab coats and there were cameras everywhere. I would lay on the table with my legs wide open. They have this mixture stuff in a bucket. It looks like cake batter and they would pour it on me. They would scoop it on me over and over again until it starts to harden. One minute, it would get really warm and then the next minute, it would get very cold. And then they would peel it off of you. It’s really interesting, I will never forget that moment. It wasn’t bad or anything, it was cool.

CJ: You were about to strip when we first talked. How do you like it?

Kendra: Oh my gosh, it was such a good workout! I really enjoy it, I love doing it. I get so sore! People do not give strippers enough credit! CJ: What’s your favorite position?

Kendra: I like them all! I tried one out for the first time in my scene. It’s where the guy is lying down and I straddle him but face away from him. But I’m on my hands and my feet so it’s a lot of leg work and that’s what killed my legs. But it was really interesting. They liked it so I did a lot of it. I like it so much that I’ve done it in my normal life.

CJ: What do you like sexually? What gets Kendra wet?

Kendra: Dirty talk. And it sucks because a lot of guys aren’t doing it. If you start talking dirty to me, that’s going to catch my attention right away. It’s definitely a turn-on. (laughs)

CJ: Are you submissive or dominant?

J.P., also known as JohnPaul and The Pope, first entered the adult entertainment industry in 2003 as a performer for SocietySM, a sub-label of Dungeon Corp.

“I was dating a model and what she was doing on her shoots spoke loudly to the sadist in me,” J.P. said. “I was a photographer and when my old boss saw my pics he offered me a job.”

J.P. was then offered a job as a PA and photographer and in 2005 he directed for the first time for Dungeon Corp. In 2010, J.P. started working for Kink where he now directs for their Hogtied, Device Bondage, and Fucking Machines lines.

Deception is J.P.’s first feature movie and he entered the feature movie genre running. J.P. Made Deception for Kink and it is a bondage, roughie, horror, and psychological thriller all in one starring Veruca James and Cherry Torn. Shot in three days on the side of a mountain, Deception is an adult movie that relies on the plot as much as it does the sex to tell the story.

Flash: Did Kink come to you or did you go to Kink with the idea of making a feature movie?

J.P.: I actually went to Kink because I had this concept in my head. I mean, features are awesome but they always seem to go back to this formula, what I refer to as like a “porn sandwich.” Which is you have a story-line and then you throw a bunch of porn in there and then at the end you kinda of try and round it back up. But it basically just turns into a porn with an elaborate intro and then an exit. I wanted to actually try to do something that was more story-based with good bondage porn in it, rather than doing a porn with a story. I watch a lot of movies and horror films and they always have horrible bondage in it. I thought it would be good to have a cool movie that had really good bondage and bondage-like sex in it, so that’s the way that went and when I sold it to them they seemed to be okay, you are talking the talk, let’s see you walk the walk.

Flash: Was it a hard sell to let them get you to do it, or was it pretty easy?

J.P.: It was pretty easy. I think the only thing they were apprehensive about was because of the way I sold it to them. I was like this is going to be the biggest thing that Kink has ever put out. This is going to be, not necessarily controversial, but it was definitely going to be more riskyish. It is going to be a lot edgier than I think anything that Kink’s ever put out on DVD. We have our scenes me make at the studio but as far as like stuff that is in this movie and how it is portrayed, I mean it is obviously all consensual but the way it is portrayed is very edgy and they were okay. It wasn’t that they really doubted me. You’re talking a really big talk. They were as supportive as they could be but they were let’s see you deliver this thing that you’re selling us on. I had them sold 100% so once I got them on board with it, it was fine.

Flash: Roughies were a popular style of feature adult movies in the 70s and early 80s, did they influence the making of Deception at all?

J.P.: It didn’t and honestly I have to admit that until you sent me the questions earlier to review, I had never heard that term before so I actually Googled it and then a couple of people in my office, we were all sitting around talking about it. I’m kind of ashamed, especially with making a movie like that and that kind of being my style, that I’d never heard of this before. I saw it and the titles sound great, the movies sound amazing. Why have I never heard? I’ve been in this industry for going on my 14th year and never heard it before. But now that I have, I appreciate you bringing it up because I’m like yes I’m going to have to start finding old porn.

Flash: I don’t want to ruin the ending, so without giving it away, was it hard to make sure that come to the end of the movie everything was plausible and fit with the ending when creating the script and the sex and bondage scenes?

J.P.: It was because basically I knew I wanted to do something outside in the wilderness and I wanted to keep it very traditional and believable as far as the male character is. There were no vibrators; I’ll use my hand. There was only one flogger, I think, and maybe a cane. So it was something that was believable that when that character showed up that he’s carrying it; it’s not like suddenly you’re in the middle of the woods and hey where did that Hitachi Magic Wand come from. We really put a lot of thought into every little detail just to be able to sell once we got to the point at the end when the big end scene happens to have that impact. I spent months working this out and talking with people and trying to figure out the best way to to this. The best way to portray it so when we got there it had the impact that I wanted it to. So ya, every little thing, every little detail, played into how we were going to get that. The good thing that I was pretty blessed with was that we had people who were so, the two girls were so committed to selling that. I sent them the script months ahead of time so they could get a feel for what they were doing and what I was expecting from them. They just were so in it and the last scene was shot on the last day, one of the last scenes that we shot because we wanted to be. What helped to get to that point was having all of us exhausted because we shot so hard and we were up on a mountain side out in the middle of the woods. It was a big deal so having that raw emotion that came and that final delivery of Cherry. It was pretty pure; it was pretty genuine. It wasn’t like we had to do a lot of faking to get that kind of emotion out of her.

Flash: What was the most challenging part of making Deception?

J.P.: I think the most challenging thing was probably getting all the footage that we got in the time that we got it. We shot all of that in three days. We came into work, we loaded up our vehicles, we drove the two hours, I think it was, to get to the location, we unloaded and we started shooting. We shot all the way until midnight that night. And then we had to put the gear away and log stuff. The next morning we were up at 9 o’clock and going again until, I think it was, 1:30 or 2 the following night. And then it was the same thing the next. It was incredible having the crew. I think the hard part was just trying to keep on track with our schedule because we knew how much we had to shoot and how many takes we had to do, all of these things. The hardest part was doing it and doing it on the side of a mountain. Not like a hill, like we were trekking up and down this mountain. So the scheduling and everything that went with it. I think it’s just dealing with all the planning was probably the hardest part.

Flash: What was the most fun?

J.P.: I think the most fun was being able to kind of be out there, in the woods, and play that monster that I played, you know the character. There wasn’t talking and I didn’t have to be so much like J.P. ‘The Pope,’ I was just this quiet entity that did what I did. I didn’t have to play it up a lot; I kinda let more my action speak rather than me have to make that. I think I may have grunted a couple of times during the movie but I didn’t have any lines. So that was kind of the point of you know the character, more of it just to be and not talk and say look at me, I’m going to do these things to you, you see what happened and I walk away. I think the most fun part was being creepier than I usually am in a movie, so that was pretty fun.

Flash: Going with a shorter run time for the movie and shorter sex and bondage scenes made Deception a very tight film that never loses the audience’s attention. What made you go against the length that the industry usually uses?

J.P.: I was trying to get out of the box and do something that, and this is not to take anything away from any other feature that’s ever made because everyone puts their heart and soul into it, but I wanted to do the story. I needed the story to stick. I needed people to be able to follow the story and if it’s drawn out too much you lose it and you lose interest. I’ve had so many people contact me and say ‘I actually watched the entire movie,’ ‘I wanted to know how it ended,’ ‘I jerked off and I finished and I still kept watching.’ That was the point of it, was to try and have it as go, go, go, go the entire time. You have adrenaline pumping because of the thriller or because of scare that is so close to orgasms. That’s the reason Halloween becomes such a successful holiday with these haunted houses because people will pay their $20 to go walk through a haunted house and get the shit scared out of them and then go stand in line for another two hours to do it all over again. So it’s very closely related the same feeling of fear and orgasmic feeling. So to be able to have people on the edge of their seat and keep them so excited and be able to actually get that release of masturbating and then orgasming on top of being in a controlled fear, it was something that I thought we had to do. Keeping the story tight and short and it’s just moving and never really resting, I think there were a couple slow down parts where you saw me walking. We slowed it down enough for people to catch their breath but that was kind of the main goal was to keep people interested as possible so they could see the entire story and not just turn it off and go okay I got my rocks off I don’t need to watch this anymore.

Flash: Is it challenging to make a movie like Deception with current obscenity laws and prosecutions?

J.P.: It was because we have to be so careful about what we do. As everyone knows in this industry, we’re under a microscope. Especially in our building specifically, our genre is hard enough, but at Kink we are always under a microscope, always being looked at. Plus to pull something off like this and be right on the edge but never crossing that line was difficult because there were a lot of times I’m like I think we are going to do this and then we talk about it and they are like that might be going a little too far so maybe we need to pull back and then there were other times where they were like hey why don’t we try to push it a little harder when we were writing the script. It was challenging. It definitely made it challenging for me to where there were sometimes I wanted to go a little further and I was like eh maybe not. And then there were opportunities where my crew was like you should go harder, you can pull this off.

Flash: After this experience, do you prefer to make feature movies at locations or stand-alone scenes at the Armory and why?

J.P.: I think actually my preference would be features because I can be more creative. Don’t get me wrong, both of them have their place, being able to do the thing that I do with the Armory and the studio, those are fun because it is kind of like you get in, you do it, and you get to play, and kinda, as I say, get the devil out. But as far as the overall doing one or the other it would definitely be features just because I can be so creative. It’s not just going into a studio, tying a girl up in four different positions, slapping her around a couple of times, and then making her cum and that is the end of it. You can do so much more; I enjoy it more. I enjoy the challenge of trying to come up with something that’s creative and then the bigger challenge of trying to execute it and deliver on what I said. Because if I do something I want to do it on a level of like Deception to where this is the way. I want to set a bar for myself, this is the way I’m not only going to make movies, but this is the way I want to be expected to. I want to be held to this level to where people are going to expect something of that caliber every single time I make a feature.

Flash: Do you have plans to make more feature movies at Kink?

J.P.: I actually do; I’ve got several scripts. I’ve got one that I actually wrote before Deception. This is kind of the funny joke with people that know me is when I had the other movie written I had wardrobe already done, I had this custom monster mask which I’m pretty proud of that will eventually show itself in this movie. I had all the masks made, I had all these details that I went out and bought to make this movie, and we were ready to go on location for this movie after I wrote it. And then there was a moratorium, which obviously halted all of production, and we ended up pulling the plug. And then I was like let’s do a smaller one and then we’ll do the big one so I don’t come out with my biggest feature first and have it such a high level that I set myself up to fail. So let’s do this little thing and we’ll call it Deception, and we’ll do this thing first and then we’ll do the big one. I’ve got the one that I still have to do that preceded Deception, We’re working on right now doing one to where we won’t be on location but we also aren’t, we’ll say inside the building. But this is such a huge building that I think we’ll be able to pull off one inside the building. So it will be nice to have everything here that we usually are used to and accustomed to having at our disposal as far as having the light guys, having wardrobe, and having make up whereas with Deception we packed up the truck full of grip gear, and the girls brought their own makeup bags and we had a couple outfits for the girls that we brought with us and that was it. So having all of that here in the building, I think it’ll be a different experience. Hopefully, it will be a little easier than the 14 to 15 hour days. I’m definitely planning more. I’ve got several ideas that I’m working around and hopefully, we’ll start shooting the next big studio one we’ll probably do in the next month or so and then after that the idea to get this location for the original movie and go out and shoot that and hopefully have it out sometime after Christmas.

Captain Jack Interviews Cassidy Klein

Cassidy is an absolutely drop dead gorgeous girl who has been in the industry for about 3 years now. She gets her first showcase acting role with the release of Girlsway’s Little Red: A Lesbian Fairy Tale.  She plays the title character in this title and gets to showcase both her acting and her lesbian sexual skills. We talked about this release and got an update on other aspects of her career.

Captain Jack: You are the lead in a new Girlsway feature, Little Red: A Lesbian Fairy Tale. Tell me about that one.

Cassidy Klein: It’s a takeoff on the fairytale Little Red Riding Hood. It’s all girl/girl and there are no boys in it. I think it’s real interesting and it actually works out perfectly. It’s one of the fairytales, when you read it, that there aren’t many male characters. There’s a big bad wolf but you don’t know if it’s a girl or a boy. So Bree took that as this big bad wolf is a girl; all these characters are girls. Let’s make this an awesome fairy tale lesbian movie. (laughs) It totally worked out. I’m lucky and honored to play Little Red. I’m happy to be a part of it at all.

CJ: I saw the trailer for it and your acting seems spot on. I saw you convey a wide variety of emotions including crying!

Cassidy: I literally put blood, sweat and tears into it. I cried on camera, it was extremely hot both inside and outside and I was sweating and, in one scene, I was running through the woods and stepped on something so my foot was bleeding. Blood, sweat and tears!

CJ: How many sex scenes are you in?

Cassidy: My first one was with Jelena Jenson. She plays a demeaned foster lady. My wildside comes out and I attack her. I get away from her and find my grandma’s house. Then I have a sex scene with Shyla Jennings. Then I have another one with her and Penny Pax. And I have one with Abigail Mac, then another one with Abigail, Kendra Lust and April O’Neil.

CJ: There are some good looking women in that one!

Cassidy: I know! I’m so lucky!

CJ: How long did it take the whole project to get filmed?

Cassidy: We shot one day of dialogue, then we shot the sex scenes for 5 or 6 days in a row. It was the best time ever. I really love working on a project day after day. It’s really enjoyable and I made friends with everyone. The last day, we were all sad!

CJ: This might be unfair to ask but is there any sex scene that stood out for you?

Cassidy: Oh, man. It’s a tossup between my first sex scene and my last. I would say not just because of the sex but for those fans who are into the story of it, the point where Red figures out that she can be in control. She can be strong. She figures that out all of a sudden and it’s a big turning point. And also, at the end, I don’t want to give too much away, but there’s a little twist at the end and I loved it so much!

CJ: I read in another interview that you said you had to stay in character during the sex?

Cassidy: Yes! I loved doing that. Absolutely!

CJ: Do you prefer playing characters or do you like gonzo?

Cassidy: I like a mixture. I like playing a character better. I think that’s the reason porn is great for me because I get to be Cassidy Klein. (laughs) And Cassidy has the opportunity to be Little Red and other characters like Agent Klein. That’s what I’m used to because I did theatre as a kid and through high school. I’m a performer through and through.

CJ: When with a woman, do you prefer it to be just the two of you or for there to be toys involved?

Cassidy: I prefer just the two of us. I don’t really like toys when it comes to girls because that’s not the point. If I wanted a toy, I’d find a penis because a penis is going to trump a dildo anyday. I’d rather have the realness of a penis or the realness of just being with a woman and what we have and letting it be natural.

CJ: Are there any current ladies that you would like to work with?

Captain Jack Interviews Tylo Duran

I came across Tylo via a Twitter request to interview her. We got a chance to connect and Tylo is a very thoughtful, insightful woman. She has only shot one porn scene so far but is going to be shooting a lot more. Get to know this beauty!

Captain Jack: Tell me about Tylo Duran.

Tylo Duran: I grew up on the East Coast and went to private school. That’s not a disclaimer that your child as a grown adult will venture down the porn path. (laughs) I had a pretty normal life. I did tap, jazz, ballet and theatre. I was an honor roll student. Went surfing and I played soccer. I was very much into sports. Always at the beach during the summer. Very outdoors, very active. I tried college out of high school but that didn’t seem like a real fit for me. I dropped out and got into doing some modeling and, from there, I did some swimsuit competitions. I did some with Hawaiian Tropic and Venus Swimwear and those opportunities led to other opportunities. I did some dancing for a bit, then traveled. One of the girlfriends that I traveled with, a feature dancer named Melissa Wolf took me under her wing. I met her a few times and I got interested in the featuring because I saw some of the potential as far as earnings capability was. I eventually got into featuring myself and did that for a good bit. I got out of it right at 9/11. I was supposed to be flying out on that day to New York. I was already having an internal dialogue about being away from my child and being on the road so much. It can be a lot of fun but it’s also a lot of work. It can get very tiring living out of a suitcase. So 9/11 was my cue and I don’t regret it at all. I raised a fabulous human being so I believe everything happens for a reason. I recently reentered the world of featuring about 2 years ago. I’ve been fortunate enough to use some of the contacts I had from back in the day. I’ve had a lot of good fortune since I’ve been back. Then I made some contacts in the porn side of the industry. I’ve had some good guidance and instruction on how to do, what to do, etc. So I submitted some pictures and the producers liked me. I did one video so far and have gotten a lot of good feedback. It was for the Score Group down in Miami. I couldn’t have started out with a better group for my first time. It was better than I thought it would be actually.

CJ: What were your preconceived notions? What did you think would happen and what happened?

Tylo: I thought it was going to be total craziness with a lot of people standing around watching and critiquing things. I think I put pressure on myself because I’m a very A type person. Even if it’s something I’ve never done, I try to approach everything with trying to hit it out of the park. I just had really great talent to work with. Great hair and makeup. The whole crew was tremendous and it was a very well-oiled machine.

CJ: Are you looking to shoot more? Are you going out to LA?

Tylo: Yes, absolutely. I’m piecing a trip together right now. I have some interest from some people in Vegas. So I’m going to Vegas, then LA. Plus, I have more interest from people down in Florida so hopefully before the end of the year, I’ll be down there shooting. And I’ll be at Exxxotica in New Jersey so I’m excited about that.

CJ: Before you got into porn, were you a very sexual person? Were you promiscuous?

Tylo: Not really. I’m very, very picky. I’m very choosy when it comes to my personal life. That’s something that’s complete and separate. I AM a very sexual person as far as my dancing. I grew up doing tap and ballet. Just from that and I’m a showman. When I’m out on the road featuring, some of the shows can get very sexual as far as the performance. I’m very sexual in that way. For me, I like casting the fantasy.

CJ: What’s your favorite position?

Tylo: On top. the ride can be wild, sort of like breaking in a new horse.

CJ: You said when you shot your first scene that you didn’t know what to expect. Porn sex is different than sex in your real life. How long did it take you to master the little tricks that porn girls have to do?

Tylo: It was funny because the talent that I worked with and everybody at Score that I had some past modeling work so it came very naturally for me. Also, coming from a classically trained dance background, being in front of people and posing and arching came easy for me. Because I had been such a showman and performer for so long that exhibitionism is a big thing for me. I feed off of the energy when I perform in front of someone. I go inside my head and forget everything else that’s around me. I’m in the zone, basically.

CJ: Did you watch porn before you got into the industry?

Tylo: I wouldn’t say that I was a “fan” but it’s always been something of interest to me and being in the industry I was in, I have come across many people that have done both. It’s always been something that I found a little fascinating especially the ones that are in porn that are married to other porn stars or someone that’s not in the industry. That dynamic has always interested me.

CJ: What do you like sexually? What gets Tylo wet?

Tylo: For me, it would be intelligence. I’m big on quick wit and sarcasm, that means you have something to offer. That demonstrates that not only is the light on, somebody’s actually home. (laughs)

CJ: Are you submissive or dominant?

Tylo: I can be both. I think the fact that I work for myself and am a businesswoman and I negotiate a lot, especially with men, I have to be strong. Kitt also runs the online bookstore Excitica.

“I write a variety of stuff, from erotica to erotic romance, in lots of subgenres, from paranormal to contemporary.,” Kitt said. “I like writing around the edges, pushing boundaries and delving into the forbidden or taboo.”

One of Kitt’s series is the Baumgartner series with Doc and Mrs. B. The first book in the series is Babysitting the Baumgartners and tells the story of the Baumgartner’s barely legal babysitter Ronnie who goes to the Baumgartner’s summer retreat to help take care of their kids and becomes entwined in a series of sexual escapades with Doc and Mrs. B.

The New York Times Bestselling book Babysitting the Baumgartners was optioned by Adam & Eve Pictures and director Kay Brandt to become an adult movie. The cinematic version of Kitt’s book was written by Brandt and stars Mick Blue, Anikka Albrite, and Sara Luvv.

Kitt is current writing the next Baumgartner book.

Flash: When did you start writing erotic fiction?

Selena Kitt (SK): I started writing erotica back in 2007, writing for Literotica’s Survivor contest. The grand prize at the end of the year long “most stories written in a year” contest was $500. I came in second ($250) and was left with a huge glut of work.

My husband said to me, imagine if you had a nickel for every time one of your stories was downloaded, and I thought – hm. Lightbulb moment! So I looked into the small ebook publishers at the time (places like Samhain and Phaze and Ellora’s Cave) but most of them were just doing erotic romance—and what I wrote was erotica. Some were just started erotica lines, but they didn’t accept some of Literotica’s most popular selling categories (like incest). So that route to publication was out.

I decided to contact the biggest ebook seller at the time (Fictionwise). They said they didn’t take individual authors—you had to be a publisher. That meant you had to have at least ten different authors and twenty-five titles. Not to be thwarted, I went to my writer friends at Literotica and asked, “Hey, guys, do you want to be published?”

And that’s how Excessica was born. We’ve grown from that ten-author stable to over 400 authors. We’ve published over 700 titles. And we have grossed almost a million dollars a year for five years running.

Flash: What made you want to get into writing erotic fiction?

SK: I honestly never intended to write erotica as a career. I just entered Literotica’s contest for fun, and a little extra cash. I started Excessica for some supplemental income. But it snowballed, and now this is my day job. My husband quit work several years ago and we both do this full time—he does cover art.

I continue to write erotica as Selena Kitt, although I have to literally carve time for writing into my schedule (you can imagine that running a publishing company, as well as two promotional companies for erotica and erotic romance—excitespice.com and excitesteam.com, respectively—is time consuming!)

Flash: What was your first novel?

SK: I started writing novels longhand in notebooks when I was thirteen. My first typed novel was a horror book I wrote on an old Royal typewriter when I was sixteen. My first e-published novel was The Surrender of Persephone, which was published with Phaze in 2007. That was just before I started Excessica.

Flash: What went through your head when Adam & Eve and Kay Brandt contacted you about wanting to make Babysitting the Baumgartners into an adult movie?

SK: I’ve been approached in the past, more than once, about making my books into adult films, but I’ve turned those offers down. Why? I think I hesitated because I didn’t quite trust the vision of the people who wanted to bring the book to life. When Kay Brandt approached me, she’d already made her own book (Safe Landings) into a film, so I knew she understood the challenges involved. But what really won me over was that Kay “got it.” She understood that what I was trying to do in Babysitting the Baumgartners wasn’t just regurgitating the seduced-babysitter fantasy.

My intention was to pen a tale of real sexual awakening, with all the naivete, curiosity, demurral and slow, eventual immersion into passion and carnal abandon that came with it. I think, at least from the way fans received the book, that I accomplished that. But I wasn’t sure, until Kay started talking about her vision for the story, that the same journey could be conveyed on film. When I agreed to this project, it was truly because I trusted Kay, and I knew we were on the same page. Having a woman in creative control was paramount – I knew she understood the deeply felt emotion in the work, and would do her best to bring it to life on screen.

Flash: Did Kay Brandt have you give input into the script? If so, in what capacity?

SK: She wrote the script from the book and sent it to me as she was writing. She paid great attention to my dialogue and I was pleased with the result.

Flash: When one writes, they get a mental image of their characters. Do Mick Blue, Anikka Albrite, and Sara Luvv resemble the mental images you’ve had for Doc, Mrs. B, and Ronnie?

SK: Honestly? No. But that’s the case, I think, for any author. I’m sure J.K. Rowling’s visions of Harry, Ron and Hermione were different than the actors who ended up portraying those characters. But now they’re cemented in everyone’s mind. I had my own visions of Doc, Mrs. B and Ronnie—and I’m sure fans did, too. That’s part of what makes bringing a book to film so difficult, and one of the reasons everyone says, “Oh, the book is always better than the movie!” Our imaginations will always be more powerful than what can be projected on screen. Of course, that doesn’t mean we shouldn’t make the effort to bring books to life on film!

Flash: Now that they have portrayed them, will this affect your mental images?

SK: Yes. For me, Anikka has truly embodied the character of Mrs. B. And the way she and Mick relate to each other brought a great deal of love and tenderness to their roles that I don’t think we would have seen if they hadn’t already been lovers. Sara wasn’t the Ronnie I’d envisioned either, but she really threw herself into the role and became the character. A.J. Applegate, too—just a perfect, gorgeous Gretchen. I imagine, when I’m writing the next Baumgartner book, I’ll have visions of these amazing actors in my head. It’s hard not to, now that they’ve come to life on screen!

Flash: Have you seen Babysitting the Baumgartners? If yes, what was your reaction the first time you saw the movie?

SK: You know that feeling you get the first time you hear your recorded voice? Seeing the movie was kind of like that. Those were my words being spoken, this was my creation… and yet, here it was, outside of myself. Part of me, but in some ways, I didn’t recognize it. I knew this was how people would see Babysitting the Baumgartners forever. It was both strange and exhilarating, to think that this movie now existed portraying my story, my characters.

Flash: How do you think the finished movie captured the feel of the book and the characters?

SK: Beautifully. It wasn’t exact—what ever is? But I think Kay stayed true to the feel of the book. And the cast was just superb. Everyone worked wonderfully together. The chemistry was amazing. In fact, I loved Ronnie and Gretchen together so much, I lamented the fact I hadn’t written more scenes for them! Guess what? The new Baumgartners book is going to have LOTS of Gretchen and Ronnie!

Flash: Do you have any aspirations to write an original screenplay for an adult movie?

SK: No. I’m not a screenwriter. I wouldn’t know the first thing about it. I enjoy the freedom of writing novels where I don’t have to think about stage direction.

Flash: Which of your books would you most like to be made into an adult movie and why?

SK: Under Mr. Nolan’s Bed. But Adam & Eve passed on that one, and I understand why. It’s taboo. But it’s a fan favorite and I think it would be so damned hot! But for mainstream, I think Bluebeard’s Wife or Unfolding would be great (more menage) and I’d love to see The Sybian Club come to life. Because who doesn’t love watching women ride Sybians? It’s probably the only thing Howard Stern and I have in common! *grin*

Flash: Has Adam & Eve expressed any interest in optioning any of your other books?

SK: Kay will be pitching them more Baumgartners soon! I think they’ve really been pleased with the sales of Babysitting the Baumgartners so far and would like to do more of them, if possible. The problem is, many of them just aren’t adaptable to adult films. There’s a lot of drama in the Baumgartner series, believe it or not, some taboo and dark subject matter. And there’s the issue of setting—Letters to the Baumgartners takes place in Venice, for example. I can do that in a novel—but making a film of it? That requires quite a budget! So the short answer is—yes. They have expressed an interest. Now we all just have to figure out how to make it happen!

Yara is a newer girl in the industry and has a great look about her. I recently had a chance to talk to her as she was about to go out and experience the night life on South Beach! Living in Miami, I don’t blame her one bit and only wish I could have joined her!

Captain Jack: Tell me about Yara Skye.

Yara Skye: I’m from Fort Lauderdale, Florida. I grew up there my whole life. When I was little, I went to about 5 different elementary schools because with my parents jobs, we moved around a lot. After that, I went to the main school in my area for middle school and high school. I wanted to do fashion when I finished college. After a year in school, I got discouraged with the field. In Florida, I don’t know how to describe it, but it’s very hard to be successful in that field in the area I was in. You had to go to Europe or California. I just got discouraged and dropped out. I decided I wanted to do porn. I did have this dream of acting too but I was a bisexual person so I thought I could just combine the two. I did a lot of research before I got into the industry. In May, I signed with Society 15. They flew me out to California and I was getting some good shoots. My first shoot in California, I shot with Twisty’s.

CJ: What’s your nationality?

Yara: Jamaican and I’m also Indian.

CJ: How old are you?

Yara: I’m 23.

CJ: How long have you been shooting now?

Yara: I’ve been in it since March.

CJ: When did you lose your virginity?

Yara: I think I was 18 or 19.

CJ: Is there a good story behind it?

Yara: I don’t know why I waited! I’ve done oral and played around and stuff. In high school, I was looked at as the sweet girl and I didn’t really do a lot. I think I was scared to lose my virginity. (laughs) When it happened, it was at a party and I was really drunk when I lost it.

CJ: At a party? Did you do it in front of people or did you go to a bedroom?

Yara: When the party was ending, he was talking to me. He had a girlfriend there too. Well, they weren’t really dating, she says they were, he says they weren’t. CJ: A lot of the guys in porn are older. Does it ever bother you to work with older men?

Yara: No, not really. I don’t really mind anymore. At the beginning, I didn’t want to work with someone who was 50. A lot of them are older and I’m ok with it.

Alice Lighthouse: I grew up in Louisville, Kentucky. School, I did great in school. I went to college for a little bit and decided that wasn’t for me. I decided I wanted to be near a beach, so made it down to Miami and I started selling luxury real estate. I was engaged and it was a BDSM relationship. CJ: What does the future hold? Where do you see yourself in 5 years?

Brandt is not just a veteran of directing adult films but also writing adult films Brandt at Girlfriends Films and Digital Playground, among other notable studios. Her work has been nominated for numerous AVN, XBIZ, and other awards. Her film Cherry 1 won the 2011 Nightmoves Award for best all girl feature and 2012 XBIZ Award for best all girl feature and Cherry 2 won the 2012 AVN Award for best all girl feature and 2012 AVN Award for best all girl group scene. She has even adapted her erotic novel Safe Landings into an adult movie by the same name for Adam & Eve in 2015.

Now Brandt has adapted New York Times best-selling author Selena Kitt’s erotic novel Babysitting the Baumgartners for the blue screen for Adam & Eve. Kitt’s novel introduced readers to the characters Doc Baumgartner and Carrie Baumgartner, are the parents of the Baumgartner family. Ronnie is the long time, now barely legal, babysitter who is asked by Doc and Mrs B (as Ronnie calls Carrie) to go to their summer home to help with the children over the summer. Ronnie gets seduced by Doc and Mr. B as the summer goes on. In Brandt’s movie Mick Blue and his real life wife Anikka Albrite bring the characters of Doc and Mrs B and Sara Luvv plays the nubile Ronnie bringing Kitt’s characters to life on the screen.

Flash: What first interested you in making an adult movie based on Selena Kitt’s book Babysitting the Baumgartners?

Kay Brandt (KB): Last year, in 2015, I turned my novel Safe Landings into a film for Adam & Eve because the head of production at Adam & Eve had wanted to create a line of movies based on books. It’s like the last frontier; everything’s been done in adult except for this really and it’s not easy to do because very few books can be adapted for an adult film – plenty of books can be made into mainstream movies – but not so much for adult. Most are eliminated by budgets, scheduling, and talent. My novel Safe Landings, I was able to adapt it to a movie last year and it did very well – sold very well – and it was heavily nominated at the awards this past January.

Because of the success of that, Adam & Eve expressed making another movie based on a book and Selena and I had been talking for probably about a year about making one of her books into a movie. I met Selena because she owns Excessica Publishing, which is my publisher; that’s the company that publishes my books. I found out about her through that and started talking to her, just very casually because during the process of making Safe Landings into a movie she had to get involved because as the publisher there are some things that she needed to be involved in as far as the cover of the book had the cast on it, was going to mention Excessica, at one point we thought we might put pictures from the movie inside the book (which we didn’t end up doing). There were just things that Selena had to be involved in, to either okay or help out with and she just thought the whole thing was very intriguing. Mostly I knew that I could continue to write books and make them into movies or find other authors. I’ve spoken to probably a dozen other authors about their books and I just kept finding that it was really tough to find a match – find a book that actually fit my criteria.

And then Selena and I started talking about a different book of hers called Under Mr. Nolan’s Bed. It was way to taboo, way too taboo. There’s no way it could really be made into a film at all – whether it be adult or mainstream. So she suggested Babysitting the Baumgartners and I thought that was cool because it fit. I was able to check off all the boxes as far as what I was going to need in book material that could easily or at least seamlessly transfer over to film.

The other piece of that was that Selena is a New York Times and USA Today best-selling author and there’s no known book before Babysitting the Baumgartners that was a New York Times bestseller or a USA Today bestseller that has been made into an adult film. So this is the first of its kind and we just knew that with her level of notoriety and the fact that Babysitting the Baumgartners has sold two million copies worldwide since it was published in 2008. It’s such a beloved book and there are so many people who have read it, whether they are open about it or not, and we just knew that’s what we needed if this book film line was going to be successful for Adam & Eve beyond my own stories was to adapt a best seller – do something that no one else had done.

Flash: How did you go about writing the script to stay as true to the book as possible?

KB: Chapter by chapter. I just went through chapter by chapter and I wrote about half of the book in script form and I sent it to Selena so she could see what it was going to look like because authors who have never written a script have no idea what that process is like. It’s amazing. I didn’t really realize this until I started writing the script for Baumgartners and I presented it to Selena and she was like wow, it just looks totally different because books are all about detail and passages and paragraphs and scripts are about shots, and action, and dialog that happens within a scene and it’s stripped down. So it’s minus all of the things that she is used to seeing being the owner of a successful publishing company and being a best-selling author was just like reading a totally different thing. She approved the first half, she thought ‘wow this is really cool I can’t believe how much this is translating as far as how her chapters were becoming scenes in a screenplay pretty easily and it was all working and she said ya, go ahead and do the rest so I wrote the rest in about probably two days and then sent it to her. What was a 125-page book became a 34-page screenplay and that’s how it went.

Flash: Other than Henry and Janie, the children, did you have to make any major changes when writing the screenplay?

KB: There were some things that we could not show. We did film some of the things that we took out of the movie just in case and it was a mutual decision between me, Selena, and Adam & Eve to remove some of these scenes. I did want to try to capture as much of the book as possible. But there are some scenes that really worked in the book that just didn’t work on film – strictly because of location, setting, that kind of thing.

One of the first scenes in the book the character Ronnie is sunbathing with Mrs. B and Mrs. B is putting suntan lotion on her and this happens in the movie — it’s the first scene where Mrs. B comes out in her micro bikini and starts to caress her while she’s putting sunblock on her back. In the book, Doc, Mr. Baumgartner, comes out and he masturbates while he watches them do that. In the book, he’s doing it from an upper floor; from a balcony on the second floor of the house. But we didn’t have that and, secondly, there was no way that we could sort of hide that from the neighbors so there was no way. We filmed it. We filmed him masturbating, or doing a solo, watching them in the distance at the poolside. Then in the final edit when the movie was coming together in post production it just made the scene rather creepy. And in the book it’s very sexy but it just didn’t translate; some things are better left to the imagination. And that’s what happens with the book, it’s better to just visualize this guy in the distance on a balcony who’s doing this really forbidden thing but filming him not too far in the distance poolside on the same level with them just made it seem weird. It was too sudden in the movie for that to happen too. It just didn’t feel right to anybody, including Selena, so we all agreed to take it out.

There were a couple other elements like that. There’re several chapters in the book that really focus on the kids and how Ronnie interacts with them as their babysitter and how she interacts with the Baumgartners and the kids as part of the family as the babysitter and I had to remove all of that in the script. There is just no way. There is no possible way to do that. Those kind of adjustments were made.

Flash: When you went to cast the movie, did you immediately think of Ryan Driller and Anikka Albrite for Doc and Mrs. B?

KB: I thought of Anikka Albrite immediately. It was Selena who wanted Ryan Driller and I didn’t have a lot of knowledge of his work then. I know that he’d done a big movie for Adam & Eve and he was gaining a lot of popularity. He’d just won an award at XBIZ and so I had a meeting with him. It was during that meeting that I really was like ya, he could definitely play it and then I had two meeting with him and Anikka before I actually officially cast them in the roles and their chemistry was good – it all seemed good. I think as far as a literal translation from the book Ryan Driller is probably more of what Selena was describing in the book and that’s why she thought he would be good for it.

Flash: You held a casting call for Ronnie, which went to Sara Luvv. Did you have a lot of respondents and was the decision hard?

KB: It was – it was very difficult and yes we got a lot of respondents but there was criteria that had to be met and one of them was that whoever played Ronnie not only had to look youthful and act youthful but had to be already skilled in anal sex and some other things. There were some candidates who sent in audition tapes and actually came to meet with me. During the audition process, I asked how they felt about doing anal and lots of solos and the situations that we were going to be filming in. They actually had problems with it. So that sort of narrowed by choice down but I wanted Sara from the beginning. I had a feeling about her before I’d even met her – before we even auditioned just looking at her pictures on her agent’s website and I’d contacted her agent before we did the auditions and her agent had told me that Sara was going to be on vacation during the shoot days so we thought from the very beginning there was no way we were going to have her and then her agent talked her into changing her vacation plans out of chance she might get the role. Out of chance, I mean there was no guarantee at that time and she did and then she showed up at the audition and she was just perfect and so we knew right then and there that it was her.

Flash: Mick Blue ended up taking over for Driller for the role of Doc when Driller ended up being sick.

KB: Yes.

Flash: Did this cause any last minute changes in the script due to him being new to the material?

KB: Zero. Zero changes.

Flash: Babysitting the Baumgartners runs for over four hours, what made you go with an epic length run time for the movie over one that could be watched in one sitting?

KB: Why not? I never do things typically. I don’t believe in following any kind of predesigned structure. This five sex scene two hour… it’s time for those molds to be broken. The industry needs projects like this that are totally different and are challenging and offer something unique and special in the experience of engaging with adult movies. Why not? Why not make it a collector’s item and something that you savor and you take slowly or you binge watch in one session.

Four hours was how it fit. There were 18 sex scenes in the book and I eliminated two because one took place in the water and one was not something that was needed because it was just too repetitive. We moved one of the water scenes, there was actually two sex scenes that happened in the water in the book so I moved one to the Jacuzzi – and I had Selena’s permission to do that before we did it. Before we filmed it she was fine with it and liked how it came out. Why not? Why have to cut it all down? I haven’t heard any complaints about this except from a couple of reviewers who just feel like they don’t have the time to watch it or sit through four hours and that’s their problem. That’s not mine.

Flash: Do you plan on bringing any other of the Baumgartner books or short stories to the blue screen?

KB: Yes, I do. Unfortunately, there’re not that many books in the Baumgartner series, there’s like five books. They just get more and more taboo because that’s what Selena’s fan base wanted to read. So she wrote those books according to what her fans wanted, what they told her they wanted, and unfortunately there’s no way to film them because they just get too crazy-like. The Baumgartner kids grow up and they become polyamorous people too and they each get involved with their babysitters after they are grown up and they are in college and even when they are out of college they get in a menage situation with Ronnie and with the character of Gretchen that A.J. Applegate played. The second book in the series is all about her because she gets hired by the Baumgartners at the end of the movie.

What we’re talking about – and I don’t want to say too much right now – is taking the next book in the series, in chronological order is called Crazy About the Baumgartners, that is all about them hiring Gretchen. There is a lot in that book that we can’t do for a couple of reasons and Selena and I have been going back and forth about how we can fix it. What we have decided to do is to combine the next book with a book that she’s been planning on writing because there’re holes in the series as far as time lapses. There’re two spots, one is between Babysitting the Baumgartners and Crazy About the Baumgartners where there is a gap in time where another book could be written and fill that gap. And then there’s another gap between Crazy About the Baumgartners and Baumgartners Reunion where there’s about a ten-year gap in time. So she is going to write two more books in the series – and this is pretty big news because this is going to be, for her fan base, a brand new Baumgartner book, which hasn’t happened in a long time and we’ll also be making it as a movie simultaneously if everything goes well and if Adam & Eve agrees to doing that. It would be combining the next book in the chronological order of the series with a book that hasn’t been published yet and making it into one movie. That’s what we are looking at right now.

Violet: That’s really hard to decide. I could never just stick with one place because I like it everywhere. Our schedules finally aligned so that we could set a time to talk. We had a wide ranging interview and I got to know Abi just a little bit better!

Captain Jack: The first time I talked to you was before your first boy/girl scene. Now you’re an award winner for that! Which means you’re one of the best fucks in the world! How does that feel?

Abigail: I’m trying to put it into words because I don’t even know. It was very humbling and it made me feel proud. I feel pride in everything I’m doing. A lot of people will say, ‘Oh, you’re just a porn star! You just do porn!’ but it’s so different for me because I love what I do, I love the people that I work with. I’m 28 years old and in the last few years, I’ve finally felt comfortable and proud and happy with myself. Every single day, I wake up and I feel so good. So winning the award made me proud. I put in so much work that year. So much time and effort. Working with friends and people who I really trust. It just gave me an ‘Ahhh’ feeling. (laughs)

CJ: I tell you, I watch a lot of porn but every time you appear in a scene, you are mesmerizing. I can’t keep my eyes off you. You are just so damn sexy! You were in Oil Overload 14 and were all oiled up. My God, that was just a beautiful site!

CJ: You have a fantastic body, what’s your workout regimen? Or do you work out?

Abigail: Oh no! I never work out! I just look like that naturally! I just think about having muscles and they appear. (laughs) I work out almost every day. I don’t really take off days. An off day for me is ‘Hey, let’s go to the park and play tennis.’ I’ll take one, maybe 2 days off during the week but I’m still doing activities, just more fun, relaxing things. She is one of those people in the industry that inspires me, she motivates me because she puts her heart and soul into everything that she does. She’s just a great, genuine person. It’s nice to be around somebody who has the same passions, the same goals, and is as driven and motivated as you. She makes everything, like literally everything she does, fucking epic. Everything. ‘We’re either going to do this 100% or not at all!’ That’s the person she is in life. She’s just great and I think that scene really showed how we took it up a notch and did everything really full out. And we were able to show, beforehand, that, yes, we actually are friends. We go out to eat, have a cocktail and bullshit and hangout because we genuinely like each other.

CJ: She had an interesting question for you, every job has its up and downs. What’s the ups and downs of doing only girl/girl?

Abigail: There are a ton of ups because girl/girl is still my go to. It’s my passion. I still do more girl/girl than boy/girl as most people know. If you look at my Twitter, you’ll see a ton of girl/girl stuff because I’m really into girls. Everybody’s on that spectrum of ‘how gay are you?’ and I’m at 75%. CJ: Aya from the ADT forums wants to know how do you approach a scene working with a newer girl as opposed to one with more experience?

Abigail: I feel like with a new girl, I sit her down and try to make her extremely comfortable. I try to talk to them about who they are in their real life. Ask questions about who they are, kind of get to know them, almost like a first date but not awkwardly. I try to banter and bullshit with them, to really get them to realize I’m chill and we’re going to have a good time. I want them to be comfortable with me. I ask them what they really like and what are they comfortable with and not comfortable with because I’m not here to make them uncomfortable. I’m there to make them feel amazing. And if we can have a really great time and have as many orgasms as possible, that’s the end goal. Forget about the director, forget about opening up, just let go and let’s have a great time. I feel like it’d take too much time and I can only be concerned with what I’m doing. As far as social media goes, I don’t really know who you are because I don’t look at other people’s profiles. So if I don’t meet you at AVN or on a set, I don’t know who you are. Not to offend anybody but I just focus on what I’m doing. I don’t know who these people are.

CJ: You mentioned you just went grocery shopping, how often are you recognized in public?

Abigail: Moreso, lately. A lot of people won’t really come up to me. In Vegas, they will. I was walking down the street in Baltimore. I was there dancing at Fantasy’s. Somebody recognized me. People will look at me then they’ll get home and email me. ‘I just saw you here!’ Why don’t you come say hi? Then I was recognized in the Vegas airport and, again, people email me afterwards. Just say hi! In Vegas, people will come say hi to me but usually not in real life. I’ll usually get a look from somebody then an email. If you see me, I am not threatening in real life at all! I don’t wear makeup, I don’t wear sexy clothes, I’m the most down-to-earth, grubby person in the world. Just come say ‘hi’ and we can chat for a couple minutes and go on with our lives! (laughs)

CJ: What celebrity, one male and one female, would you most like to fuck?

Abigail: I have to be 100% honest, I’m not really into celebrities. I’m trying to think of anybody who’s inspiring to me and then I would want to bang them… can I say Deepak Chopra? (laughs)

CJ: You said you’re into people that inspire you, if you were at a bar or wherever, how would someone approach you and keep your interest?

Abigail: Number 1, you have to look me in the face. (laughs) Look me in the eyes and carry on a conversation. In this digital era, it’s really hard to find someone who will look at you and have a normal conversation. It’s very, very rare to find that. Look at me and have an actual, genuine conversation. Not, ‘Hey shawty, what up? I wanna put my dick in yo ass!’ Really? I’m really interested in people who have talent like a painter or a writer or a doctor or a chef. CJ: Would you ever be interested in directing?

Abigail: I don’t know. My website, I pretty much came up with the ideas but as far as directing goes, I think a lot of girls “direct” who never pick up the camera. They don’t know about lighting or anything like that. So until I can pick up a camera and I can make sure the lighting is good, the settings are good and all that, I can’t even think about it. If I’m going to be directing, I’m going to be holding the camera. Dani Daniels actually does that. A lot of girls say, ‘I want this, this and this’ and let the other people do the work, that’s not directing to me. Never say never but I don’t really know. I have so many other things that I’m doing right now that I haven’t even thought about it.

CJ: I started out by talking about your award from last year, what about this year? What are some of your best scenes?

Abigail: I’m proud of every single scene that I’ve done because they’re all awesome. (laughs) I did a movie for Wicked called Trouble X 2, I would love to be nominated for Best Actress for that or Best Couples Sex Scene because me and Ryan Driller have done some great scenes. He’s fucking hilarious and I love working with him. I think Lex The Impaler 9 was really good. Holy shit, Lex is one of my favorite performers of all-time! Not only is he a gentleman, he is a great performer and a joy to work with. He’s another genuine person. I was so happy that I was able to be on set with him. I hope that can get nominated for Best Boy/Girl. There’s a lot. Fast forward 18 years: Always priding themselves on being on the cutting edge of adult entertainment, Sssh.com along with PervOut.com, run by Lance Hart, have co-produced their first VR 360º movie – Empowering Ava.

Empowering Ava is a short subject adult movie, which is viewable on VR 360º devices and on browsers through a customized viewer, that tells the story of erotic writer Ava, played by Ava Mir-Ausziehen, and her husband, played by Lance Hart. Ava is writing a story about pegging and her husband and her husband becomes intrigued by the concept.

Flash: What made you decide to make a VR 360º movie?

Angie Rowntree (AR): At first I wasn’t sure if we would be able to utilize VR and still maintain our ethos of taking our members fantasies and desires and turning them into onscreen realities. I couldn’t reconcile how I could accomplish that with POV VR, even though it was what everyone else was doing. Shooting compelling movies filled with chemistry, connection, and really hot sex just didn’t seem, possible in a POV environment.

Then in April, I went to the NAB, National Association of Broadcasters, show. It was a real eye opener. I went to a number of workshops and talks and also attended the Kaleidoscope VR Film Festival.

The main focus was something called “dynamic storytelling” and after a very short demonstration, of what dynamic storytelling was, it really did not take long before I realized that this was something I could work with. It was different, it was fun, and a challenge. Now I was telling a story on a 360º set, and directing the viewer’s attention via sound, among other things. It was like the theater. I loved it!

Armed with the concept and my newfound knowledge, I started looking at the equipment. Colin and I decided to make a mid-range investment as we wanted to make sure that this type of VR storytelling would be something our members wanted to see. Even for Wasteland.com, the BDSM site, it was still something very different than what was already available. Worse case scenario there wouldn’t be a market for it, best case scenario we have a new, really fun medium to tell stories.

One item of note; at the film festival I watched a number of movies and I very quickly realized that I did have problems with the less expensive headsets fitting correctly, due to my narrow face, while the expensive ones were more adjustable but heavy. I’m hoping that as VR becomes more popular the prices will become more reasonable. With that said, it was the number one reason we released Empowering Ava in a way that you could view with or without a headset.

Flash: What was your experience shooting in VR 360º for the first time?

AR: It was a learning experience, just like anything you do the first time. Empowering Ava was done in three acts. Each “act,” was rehearsed and blocked. One thing you have to keep in mind when working in a 360º environment, is that your set design and dressing must also be 360º. In traditional film, your blocking within a much smaller area. VR 360º really is like theater. In a stage production, the director works with their actors leading up to the performance, but once the “curtain” goes up, the director steps back. I was actually in an adjoining room watching on a wireless iPad.

Going back to sound… I wanted to use that entire 360º space. For instance, I had Ava sitting at a keyboard typing, you could hear the click of the key’s. Then Lance would enter from the far end of the room. You, as the viewer would automatically look to see where the sound of the door closing was coming from. We directed attention using sound.

Flash: How did the sex turn out?

AR: It was provocative, amazing and very, very real. As there were no interruptions, both Lance and Ava had the opportunity to talk, really connect, and explore each other’s bodies. There was a very natural flow to the sex that quite honestly I have not seen before in porn, and you can feel their tangible connection.

Flash: The sex scene, was that the first take or did you have to do several.

AR: First take.

Flash: Really?

AR: Yep. First take.

Flash: That is impressive.

AR: The kitchen scene we did a couple of times, outside we did once, and the sex scene we did once.

Flash: That’s very impressive.

AR: Oh, thank you, but it really was them. They were fantastic. We all went into this knowing it was an experiment. Ava and Lance were on board and willing to put the work into it. They are both strong actors and obviously had a very powerful attraction to each other, the end result was amazing.

In retrospect, shooting in 360º VR is exactly like a stage production. It has such a different feel to it than a traditional film.

Flash: How much do you have to change set design for VR 360º shooting?

AR: Everything the camera sees. Even if a room is not active and the camera can see it in the distance, it needs to be dressed.

Flash: What problems did you experience?

AR: Our biggest challenge was lighting. We didn’t realize the cameras were quite that sensitive, even though they were tested.

Not problems specifically, but rather, what we learned. The trailer, I’m really glad that we shot in three acts as that enabled us to cut back and forth between acts to create it. It flowed well. I was really happy with our “stitching” Also, coloring, effects, watermarking, and pretty much everything else has to be on the equirectangular footage.

Flash: Why was the forest scene so short?

AR: The forest scene had two purposes. First, we used it as a transition between the kitchen and bedroom and because I wanted to create different environments for the viewer to explore. It had originally been longer, but for a number of reason, we cut it down.

Flash: What are you going to try to change with the next ones?

AR: We have two more in the works. The second one will be entirely outside with a focus on environment. The third one is going to be much more story intensive. We are going to try to build emotion and suspense, using both sound and visuals.

VR has so much potential I want to try and utilize all of it.

Flash: How does the VR 360º style work for features?

AR: It’s a unique way to tell a story. It’s organic. It’s a wonderful medium for the right story.

I’m very happy with the results, considering this was my first time out of the gate. I also believe that this is the first time that somebody in the adult industry has used dynamic storytelling which lends itself to everything from shorts to feature films. We’re really excited about it and what the VR future holds for us as our movies become more and more intricate and feature-rich.

Captain Jack Interviews Ryan Conner

Ryan Conner came back to the porn world early last year. Since then, she has proven to be one of the more popular MILFs in the industry! She is also one of my most well-read interviews ever! It was time for a Round 2 and Conner and myself finally got together to consummate it. Ryan is a very engaging woman and I love talking to her. CJ: Do you have any favorite scenes since you came back?

Ryan: I’ve worked twice with Bill Bailey and I’ve had a blast both times. They were both for Brazzers. He’s a lot of fun. He gets you into a lot of weird positions and he’s a pleasure to work with. He’s very, very, very professional.

CJ: Is there anyone out there that you would love to work with but haven’t had a chance to yet?

Ryan: All of them. (laughs) I don’t get to work with females that often and there is a long list I want to work with. There are a great many that I must taste. There are quite a few guys too. What I noticed is that I get paired up with the same people. Don’t get me wrong, I enjoy them, I really do. I would like to work with more because variety is the spice of life. But I think they pair me with particular people because a) they’re very, very good and we do a good scene and b) I have a fairly large booty and it requires specific things otherwise I tend to dwarf people. Oftentimes, I get paired that are smaller sized and boyish looking with giant dicks or very big, manly guys like Manuel Ferrara that have big dicks. In any case, 90% of the time they’re anal scenes and some guy with a giant dick.

CJ: Are you submissive or dominant?

Ryan: I am both. It really depends on who I’m with. My preference in life is submissive. I’m super happy to be back amongst them. I have nothing but good things to say about the porn industry. I can’t say a wretched thing about anybody in the industry!

Ryan: Under Ryan Conner. The reason being, is that this album is called Bad Apple. It is all about my venture into porn and my walk through porn before I got back into the industry. I talk a lot about judgments and my feelings but fun, poppy with a little bit of rock in there. I’m about to do another album with more heartfelt stuff, fun stuff too like dance numbers. And I am flirting with the idea of doing a country album and, if I do, that will come out under my real name.

Captain Jack Interviews Brett Rossi

Brett: I grew up in the Inland Empire of Southern California. I was very active as a kid. I took 13 years of ballet, I was also a gymnast and an ice skater. Brett: Digital Playground intended on making me the next generation of their contract girls as they were phasing out Jesse, BiBi, Kayden, Stoya, Selina which was the only reason I had intended on doing BG. I had enjoyed being in a contract and always wanted to be a DP girl. However right as my Twistys contract was ending and I was supposed to roll into a DP contract things changed at their head office and they decided they were not going to do DP contracts at that moment so they offered me a short term Brazzers contract. I wasn’t happy and I didn’t want to be freelance, so I enrolled in nursing school and retired from the business.

CJ: What prompted your comeback?

Brett: Before I came back to the business, I was back doing runway modeling which is something a lot of people were not aware of but keeping my weight down to 110 and being 5’8 was really unhealthy and hard.

Kayden Kross and I have been close friends for years and she offered me a contract so I decided to take it.

CJ: What did you miss most about the industry?

Brett: I really missed the people, honestly. I feel like everyone in the adult business has some sort of “past” and when I was back in mainstream runway, I felt I was judged on a regularly basis based off my past and the adult industry is different. We are all different, but one of the same so I feel like there isn’t as much judgement there.

CJ: You are a gorgeous woman, did you get a lot of attention in high school?

Brett: I was a tomboy with long blonde hair who didn’t wear make up and jeans/wife beaters were my only attire. I hung out with older men, always have.

CJ: When did you lose your virginity?

Brett: 14, but I feel that was entirely too young.

Brett: We were engaged, we had a special relationship and so was our sex. I can tell you one thing, we NEVER brought in additional partners. It was always just the two of us. Monogamy was something we treasured with one another.
